The world of Harry Potter can teach us quite a few things about friendship and imagination, but surprisingly it's also fairly realistic about careers. As Harry learns, career planning isn't magic, but it is something you can develop with hard work and a willingness to be flexible.
Using inspiration from Harry Potter, we'll work through career mapping exercises together to look at our accomplishments, values, and goals. We'll consider how to overcome roadblocks and seek out opportunities. And finally, we'll develop action steps for our career goal.
This session is perfect for emerging professionals, those new to museum careers, or those wanting to jump-start their career mobility!
About the speaker: Carolyn Noe is the Program Director for the Institute for Health Innovation at Northern Kentucky University. She is also the Executive Director of Super Heroines, Etc., a nonprofit organization that uses the power of fandom to fight for representation in pop culture, and is a freelance web developer. She has an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
