Join OMA for our August Hands-On Workshop - Engaging Teens!
Now that the calendar reads "August," most of us are winding down our summer activities and looking firmly ahead to the back-to-school season. As more school groups start coming through museum doors and students visit to research class projects, the question that looms large in many museum professionals' minds is: how can we engage students - more specifically, TEENS - outside of school-related activities?
Join OMA at the Toledo Museum of Art, August 28 as we dive into how to engage teens, how to develop teen programming, and how to take that programming to the next level for maximum engagement.
Engaging Teens - What to expect
Participants will hear from a variety of museums with successful teen programming in a quick, Pecha Kucha-style presentation to get our brains ready for the day. Then, we'll dive into a hands-on, 90-minute design workshop to give you a head-start on designing an engaging teen program for your museum.
The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon, but if you have a little extra time over lunch, we invite you to stick around and continue the conversation with teens who have participated in successful museum programming. Over lunch, these teens will share their experiences and act as an informal focus group, offering insights into your ideas.
This incredible, hands-on workshop experience is available for only $15 for OMA members ($25 for non-members), but don't delay! Registration for Engaging Teens in Museums ends August 23!
